Benefit Pinks for Spring.

I feel like Benefit has been every where recently! They went above and beyond when bringing out their new mascara; Bad Gal Bang. Like flying Youtubers out to the Maldives above and beyond. I loved how hyped they got about a mascara, because I feel like a brand that puts so much effort into just one product must be worth buying. I have loved Benefit for so long and I always end up going back to them because when buying high end makeup I want to know its worth my money. I have never been disappointed by any products and its nice to feel like a brand actually cares about the customer. Who else agrees? 

Today I will talking about this adorable benefit set which I think is perfect for spring. I love wearing pinky colours in spring to compliment the season. They always makes me think of flowers and warmth and it really contrasts with the dark and autumnal colours from the colder seasons. I'm really looking forward to introducing lighter colours into my new Capsule Wardrobe and experimenting with them. You can read about my little trial here.  But focusing more on makeup now...

First of all I love this mini Roller Lash Mascara because its going to be so useful for when I go on holiday later on in the year. I can stick it in any handbag while having my big one in my makeup bag. I love what it does for my lashes and I tend to wear it as an everyday mascara rather than a going out one. I won't go into it too much because I have already written a full post on it here if you want to know more about it. 

The next little joy is the Dandelion Dew which is probably my favourite apart from the classic Roller Lash Mascara. I was initially  a little weary of the bright pink dew as I don't tend to wear blush because I have naturally very pink cheeks, so I try to avoid the clown look. However, because it is liquid you can blend it perfectly for a subtle pink dewy which is my cup of tea as I wear dewy makeup all year round to avoid my naturally dry skin. 

The Posie tint makes me so happy because you can use it for both your lips and cheeks. What a perfect little item to have in your handbag. Just imagine when you're half way through the day and you feel meh, but then you can get your Posie tint out your bag and be renewed for the day. A quick brush of the tint with your fingers onto your cheeks and lips and you will glow! This pink is definitely a bright summer shade as there is nothing dull about it. 

The final part of the set is a good old blusher. I love it, but I'll be honest I don't wear it as a blush because it is too pink for my cheeks, however I wear it as an eye-shadow. I actually have it on now as I write this. I use a fluffy brush to apply it on my lids and blend and that's it. Its great for my simple makeup look that applies no thought what so ever and basically wear it nearly everyday. All these products are effortless and light weight on the skin which sounds like Spring makeup to me

Glitter and Glamour.

Okay, lets get back into things and what a perfect way to return to blogging! Glitter! I have recently been talking with a company called Glamour by DKUK. Have you ever wondered where all these girls on social media get their fancy make up brushes, (Who doesn't want unicorn brushes?!) interesting beauty blenders and the new fad; 'Insta Smile'? I had a good look around the website and I love all the various products, they are mostly a fashion brand, but today I am talking about the accessories that they offer. 

With starting uni I did go through the necessary Freshers week and lived to tell the tail. Sleep was limited and the dancing was everything, so being able to wear glitter was fantastically fun! Me and my friends played around with where we would put it and what colours we would use. My personal favourite was the gold glitter on the top of my cheeks like a very extra highlighter. 

It is so easy to apply, I used a makeup brush to put it onto my face and I'll be honest it will stay all night. I thought that I took most of it off before went to bed because you should always remove your makeup before bed...but I did find glitter on my pillow in the morning so its staying power has good and less good points.

Glamour.

Buns for days.

Last Sempember I cut my hair short, like really short. I won't go into my whole hair history today because I'll save that for another post, but last summer holidays I cut my hair (Yes, I did it myself), so it was around my collar bones or just under. however a few weeks to a month later I decided that I wanted really short hair. I made this decision in a really counterintuitive way, because for some reason I'd like to university with long hair like I used to have, last year or a few years ago. (I really do like to change the length) In my silly head this meant that I should cut it as short as I could personally go, because I knew something like a pixie cut would look dreadful on me, so I cut about 4 inches of my hair to make it just about shoulder length so I could feel what its like to have short hair before I started to grow it out again. 

Yes, that was a long winded explanation, but heres how we ended up at this post. My hair is about an inch and a half below my collar bones now whuch also means I can start to do interesteing things again. Before I could only manage a pony tail or bun as long as I pinned the straggly bits. 

Now I can make a short plait or other various normal styles,but I style I'd never really thought of is have two buns. I started to do this style when my hair was damp, so that my hair would be wavy the next day and I'd never considered wearing it out because it either makes me think of Princess Leia or a child. However, when I style it slightly different, I really it!

I split my hair into two sections and make a pny tail with one to keep it out the way. i then back combed a tiny but to make more volomeous, but you skip this if you don't have fine hair like me. I collect the hair at the top back part of my head so the bum won't be bang on the side. I twirl the hair around my fingers and circle it round itself until I can put a bobble around it and maybe a pin or two. (The aount of pins will depend on how much hair you have). Making a simple bun will take pratice to get it just how you want and I had a head start by doing ballet 12 years where were required to always have a bun. After doing the first bun go aead and repeat and the side you put in a pony tail. At the end of this I usually pull a few peices of hair out which a call whispy bits to sofen the face, because i want it to be a relaxed and cute style. 

And there we go, you've got a really quick and eat hair style that will last all day, but its a little different from the usual pony tail.

Crabtree and Evelyn hoarder.

Moment of silence for the beauty.....Okay done. Something I find it a little addicting is apply hand cream through out the day so they are soft and smell lovely. My favourite brand is and has been for a long time is Crabtree and Evelyn.

They have a huge variety of beautiful scents that do not offend the senses. That obviously depends on your own personal preference, but I know there is a Crabtree and Evelyn smell for everyone especially because they don't only do hand creams but hand washes, shaving cream and many other things. Something I plan on trying on the future is their Eau De Toilette. 

My favourite smell at the moment is rose water because I think it is a very fresh smell for January, I don't know why I associate certain smells with certain times of the year but I'm enjoying this scent because its so different from the recent wintery smells if you know what I mean. Another great thing about these sets is that if you don't want them all then you can share them with your friends. Sharing is caring right?

What smells are you loving at the moment?

Doing my everyday makeup.

I really fancied doing a beauty post, but I didn't just want to show you my makeup because there isn't anything particularly interesting or different about makeup. So this is going to be a how I do my everyday makeup, winter edition. So I try to cleanse, tone and moisturiser everyday, i may be a bit rubbish at skin care but I do moisturise everyday to avoid very dry skin which I easily get and especially in winter. It also helps my makeup go better. So here goes...

 At the start I begin with foundation like most people do and currently I'm using Rimmel Match Perfection which is supposed to give the skin 24hr moisture hydration and to blur the pores. I'm not sure if it does give 24hr hydration because I don't wear my makeup that long but it does blur my pores to give my skin a more flawless finish. It also has SPF 20 in so even in the winter sun that doesn't seem much but can still damage your skin over time. The only thing I don't love about the product is the the colour has a pink undertone so it doesn't match my olive undertone(even though I'm very pale at the moment), but I have to really blend it into my neck otherwise I get the horrible line. So I buff the product which is a medium coverage all around my face and down onto my neck. I spend a few minutes working it into my skin focusing and areas like my nose where my skin is less even.

Then I use a fluffy brush to do an all over with my Rimmel Stay Matte powder to keep the shine away.

The bane of my existence is my under eye bags that are truly terrible. I use a few different products on them to tackle the problem even though one bit of bad lighting and i'm back to the beginning. I use the Rimmel Wake Me Up anti fatigue corrector concealer generously under them and pat the product in with my ring finger which is apparently the most delicate. I then go on to use the Maybelline highlight corrector to really get rid of the darkness and then blend gain with my foundation stippling brush.

Eyebrows are pretty easy for me because I don't mind the thickness so I leave them alone in that way, but then groom through them to get the hairs going in the right direction and then fill them in with brown eye shadow because they can be sparse in places. (Go lighter then you think because you don't want slugs)

Today I wore a silver eye look because I didn't know what I was going to wear for the rest of the day when I went out. (I'm going to see Fantastic Beasts and where to find them tonight!) I still don't think I've mastered eye shadow blending so I didn't want to a close up for you all you all to critique. I then applied eyeliner, thinker then usual with a very small flick because my hooded eyes can make cat eyes difficult. I finished my eyes off with curling my lashes and put a few coats of mascara on.

To complete the whole look I did a tiny bit of armature couture in the form of brushing Bourjois chocolate Bronzer in the hollows of m cheeks wile I do a very unattractive sucky fish face. And last but not least I dab on some Benefit highlighter on to catch the light. And done.

This years suede skirt.

Autumn autum autum! I'm obsessed! I've spent today running around in leaves and being very childish. I'm dressing as autumnal as possible. Using colours of the leaves to plan my outfits and it also helps that my hair is dark auburn so that's pretty autumnal. 

However I am someone who gets cold easily so I layered up. With an oldy but a classic; this Primark camel coat that comes out at this time of year because it is so oversized that I can really snuggle up in it and especially with a scarf. I can cocoon myself.

Not only am I feeling good about being able to go outside in basically a blanket I'm also digging the good old suede skirt out. This is my new one for the year because the one I wore last year no longer fits, but I had to have this essential piece for my wardrobe because its so autumnal, (I'll stop saying autumnal now, I promise.) classic and just is in without being a hyped up trend that will end in two months. I've proven this by wearing it two years in a row, Maybe three actually, I cant quite remember. 

Yeah I love everything in this outfit from my Heart necklace from my best friend to my handy green bag that is big enough to fit my stuff in it, but not so big that its just annoying to carry around. However my favourite part is the plain and boring black t-shirt from Primark. It was £3 and its the perfect plainess to go with my pretty skirts. It doesn't over power the other patterns because I don't love standing out with crazy patterns.

Summer everyday makeup

So apparently its summer here in the northern hemisphere however I don't think anyone bothered to tell the weather this. But life goes on in sunshine or in rain so I thought I would show you my go to summer makeup. This year I haven't been very creative with my summer makeup since I've had limited time and I couldn't be arsed to be honest to play around with different looks so I've just gone for the bronzed look.

Please don't think orange though, I like to have some colour just to warm up my complexion since when I'm pale in the winter I get lovely comments about how I look ill and tired. I have great friends.... 

This look is pretty standard with a bit of eyeliner and mascara and I tend to also put a bit of eye shadow from he Maybelline Blushed Nudes palette which I will be reviewing quite soon. The foundation Im wearing at the moment is the Rimmel Wake me Up foundation in a slightly darker shade for my summer skin. I have only recently made the change from my Rimmel Perfect Match foundation as I've only just caught the sun from going on a couple of walking weekends.

The thing I would recommend out of everything is probably the Bourjois bronzer because it's so beautifully subtle that you can completely avoid the fake orange look. But I still love the Benefit They're Real mascara and push-up liner.

Everyday Asos.

I love to show really simple everyday outfits on here in case it strikes a little inspiration which is something I love to get when reading other blog. This is a really casual outfit that I wear all the time. Last week my outfit was mostly Primark, but this week I wanted to talk about Asos.

Asos is a big love for me even though it's online, and I usually like to shop in person where I can try things on, but Asos is an exception. Their style and range is so cool! I love looking at their shoes and basically everything else, especially because they have a 70% off sale. I talked about my trench coat in my last post and I just have a simple polo neck top on from Nobody's Child. I love everything on Nobody's child as well. 

I am only 5'4 so I need my short jeans, which are not easily found in lots of shops. These jeans are comfy, affordable and short! I'm so happy that I bought them and while I was buying them I also came across a really cute headband. This is quite different for me, because I don't do a lot with my hair and this is not very subtle, so I'm quite proud that I just went for. 

I've already done a post about these shoes; it was at the end of last year and I raved and raved about them, but I haven't actually done many fashion post where I'm actually wearing them. They have defiantly lasted well since I wear them so much and threw places like muddy fields. (It wasn't the best idea I've had)

Spring around the corner.

My sister and I love to adventure out and about, so we decided to do some outfit posts as I was wearing my new top from Boutique of Molly, which is perfect for spring even though it seems like spring is far away in this cold weather. 

                           

I think is outfit is very me, so I wanted to talk about it in a post. I was contacted by Boutique of Molly which is an online fashion brand that has a fab range of clothes to choose from. I bought this floral top with thin straps and a peplum design which is probably going to be my most worn item in spring. I know it's only January, but I like to think ahead. However even in January the pretty top was great with my leather jacket and favourite black jeans. 

The top is fitted in all the right places with the peplum flattering your stomach without it making it look bigger than it actually is. The pattern is so cute and flowery that it makes a simple and more mascurline outfit look pretty and feminine.

My other favourite part of the outfit is the robot bag from Accessorize. It's so funky! In 2015 my fashion resolutions were to wear more colour and to be more precise about what's in my wardrobe, but this year my plan is to have a few pieces that are really out there. The robot bag is a good example, because it makes a relatively normal outfit stand yet from the crowd.

Winter Style. Arboretum.

So its December and windy which means everyone needs a nice warm winter coat. I've already spoken about this one in a previous post, but I wanted to show another possible outfit that is comfy to wear in the day time and is warm enough that it keeps the wind off. 

My sister, niece and I went for a walk in the local, beautiful Arboretum, so because my sister is amazing at taking photos: she very kindly tries to make me look photogenic. Her blog is here.

This outfit is mostly Primark which makes it really affordable when you are at sixth form age and you don't have a lovely paying job. 

I bought this bag from Accessorize in September and it has served me well so far. I use it as a school bag, because even though it doesn't look very big its like a Tardis when I need to fit all my textbooks in.

My pinafore dress is not something I would usually go for, but I think I've made it work. I love it for school, so I can look a bit different from other people, but still not stick out too much. Again, I'm wearing my Foxford scarf and black boots. These are not the same boots as the last post, because they decided they no longer wanted to be together in one piece. These are from eBay like the old ones and are just as robust. 

The jewellery is also from Primark; I mostly prefer jewellery that is small especially for school.
