What's in my bag?!

This is a post that ive never done before and I couldn't understand why. For one it's a classic post that I've seen bloggers and youtubers do and another reason I can't belive I haven't done it, is that I love seeing what people have in their bags! I'm so nosy when it comes to these things because people can keep the most random items in their handbags.

I've layed out all the items I had in the bag I'm using currently with the exceptions of some random old pieces of chewing gum (obviously not chewed. Ew) that I thought would ruin the image slightly. I have the usual things like my purse which is from new Look. I love it because it fits everything in. (I mean receipts and not money because I'm pretty poor) Phone and ear phones are standard as well.

I'm really not sure why I always have sunglasses with me when I live in England but I'm ever the optimists. Something you might not know about me is that I love reading and it's my favourite hobby. However I find it hard to find the time to really enjoy a good book so I always carry one with me on case the opportunity arises. At the moment I'm reading 'We need to talk about Kevin' which is written my the mother of a boy named Kevin who committed a school shoot up in America. To avoid making this into a book review, it is an interesting book to because of the way it's written and that you get to see a different side of a well known news story.

Who else is a compulsive list maker? Because I definitly am. My anxiety means that I obviously worry a lot but knowing that I have written everything down really calms me so I keep my trusty Flamingo note book that is full of scribbles and lists.

Finally, a makeup bag in a women's handbag is not unusual but I try hard not to pack everything. Instead I keep the necessities like concealer and eye lash curlers which may not be a necessity to someone else but my eye lashes are short and straight which I don't like. At the bottom of my bag I found a couple of hair pins and hair bobbles left over from God knows when. Another thing I feel unable to leave the house without is my hand sanitizer which is a gorgeous smelling one from The Body Shop. (At the moment its satsuma) all with that smelly thing I have a miny of one of my favourite perfumes which is from Dior so we donto have any bad scents while out and about.

Over all I'm pretty impressed with the lack or hoarding I have even if I did take a sweet wrapper out as well. I hope you've enjoyed having a nosy in my bagarden.  What do you always keep I  your bag no matter what?

Who needs to do exercise to get trainers?

My name is Brigid and I am a shoeaholic. But I think that I actually needed these. I needed practical shoes that were also pretty. This is exactly what these Joules trainers are and they were half price in their current fantastic sale! And a little note; I do do exercise but not in these because they're far two pretty to get filthy.

I've worn them for a couple of days now and don't want to sound cliche but it does feel like I'm walking on clouds however I'm slightly nervous of getting them dirty which defeats the point of wearing shoes, but I want to keep them nice for as long as possible.

They also do these in grey if blue doesn't float your boat however blue defiantly floats my boat so they go with nearly everything I wear on a casual day.

To finish this post of I would like to apologise for not blogging for a month. It didn't mean to be a month but life happened and I may explain it in the future but for now I'll just say i haven't  been in the mood for blogging. Sorry.

Pinky florals

For me i think this summers colour is pink. I cant get enough even though im not particularly pink person especially not one who wears pink patterns. That really goes against my usual plain blue and grey colour palette, but I've decided not to be so boring.
I borrowed this scarf from my lovely sister and im glad I did as it rained most of the day when we visited Gunby Hall which is a beautiful National Trust property in Lincolnshire. I hoped the floral scarf would make my simple quite predictable outfit.

This outfit is predictable because I always seem to wear this trench coat in blog posts however i am redeeming myself by wearing a colour that isn't blue. Yay, finally. I always associated pink with little girls as its the colour I wore most as a child even though my parents didn't want to enforce gender stereotypes I would always choose pink. So when i was going through my early teens pretending that I was all grown up I tended to avoid pink because "mum, I'm not 7 anymore"...blah blah blah...other stupid things i said as a twelve year old.
Another thing about this outfit is the denim skirt which look quite effortless and also hides how worn that white shirt is. When I love something I really do love it to death.Hopefully wearing more summery colours will give a new life to my wardrobe.

Do you plan on wearing anything new this summer?

It's my birthday!

Just a little post today as today is my 17th birthday. I have been a very lucky lady presents wise and I am so grateful yo my amazing family and friends who spoiled me. I'm excited to be able yo start learning to drive soon and that I can move on from being 16. The age of 16 brought personal difficulties and I don't that found it hard to be 16 but that the last year has been hard and and a little heartbreaking sometimes.

But I faced it and am currently dealing with it so today I can celebrate getting through another year. Anyway I just wanted to say how grateful I am to the people who have helped me. And thank you to anyone who reads my blog. I love you all!

Crabtree and evelyn.

Hello, my name is Brigid and I have an addiction. My addiction is to the brand Crabtree and Evelyn. My Mum has always been a fan so products having been round our house all my life, but it is in the last couple of years that I've started paying attention to them and I'm so glad that I did.

If you don't like smelly (as in good smells) products then these are not for you, but for those of you that can appreciate a lovely scent like rose (mmmmm...rose) then these are defiantly for you. I love the hand mousterisers as I can take them anywhere with me because of there practical size, but don't be decieved because just because they are not huge doesn't mean that they don't last forever. Okay forever is an exaggeration, but a little bit really does go a long way.

The picture below showing a dot of it on my finger really is how much you need to spread across your hands which mousterisers them fully. I do have to warn you that you may look weird when you keep smelling your hands after applying one of the scents. Citron is a personal favourite of mine. I hope I've persuaded to at least look at the lovely Crabtee and Evelyn website.
What do you like to carry around in your handbag?

"On Wednesdays we wear pink."

I'm sorry for that cheesy reference in the tittle, but I am a big fan of Mean girls. Last Wednesday my friends and I actually did wear something pink. That's when I found out that I don't own many pink items, probably because I grew out of the 'wear all pink' stage about 10 years ago. But now I think that pink shouldn't be seen as childish colour, but a colour a mature women can apsaloutly rock!

This wasn't meant to be a pink rant, but a spring favourites, so here I go; I have spoken about the amazing Benefit Roller Lash mascara before as it is wonderful however I haven't worn a lot of makeup in the winter months because my skin needs a rest with the cold weather which results in me getting dry skin. Yay. Not. But I have stuck to this trusty mascara, because it doesn't leave clumps, it stays on all day and I don't have to scrub my eyes red raw to get it off.

The second thing that I've been wearing everyday is my personalised 'Brigid' necklace because it is so nice to something with my unusual name on. And I prefer silver to gold so that is a plus. On the end of my name there is a little star which I think is so cute.

Bargain alert! These cool sunglasses are from Primark and were £1! I'm very bad with sunglasses because I either lose them or sit on them . Yes I'm an idiot, but I don't have to be too disappointed if either of those situations occur because I've only lost £1, but on the other hand I still want to lose them because I think the shape are funky and different with a retro vibe going on.

I haven't spoken about this Jimmy Choo perfume in a very long time, but It has continued to be a favourite so much so that I'm worried that I'll run out too quickly so I'm rationing it. I'm afraid I can't just go out and buy nice perfume any day of the week due to my budget, but I'm enjoying the nostalgic smell which reminds me of a bubble bath my mum had when I was little. It probably doesn't smell like that at all but that's what I think of when I put it on.

What are you favourites for spring?

Xx

Got the blues.

A colour that has never failed me yet is blue, I have blue eyes, it describes how I'm feeling a lot of the time and it just looks great. Blue blue blue. I just love it. Anyway you get it.
I'd been looking for some cigarette cut trousers which I found on Miss Guided. I was surprised because I rarely shop at Miss Guided, but I will defently make an effort to look there more often.
I have been wearing them a lot since I got them.

This is my favourite outfit I style with them because you can never have enough navy blue. Right? Well maybe you can so I like to break it up with a simple white shirt and my Kurt Geiger shoes.  This outfit is inspire red by my Pinterest scouting I've been doing lately. I really like the chic street style that I see on the great Pinterest, but I try to make it more me so I stuck a bit of green in there and my Amnesty International badge even if it isn't particulay fashionable.

Even though the weather can't decide what season it is, I have. I will be spring like even if it snows one weekend and then is sunny the next. I brought the milkmaid braids back for spring because I went the whole of winter so it's about time. This was the first time I'd done them in months so the braids are looking a little ruff, but that can be solved with some practice. And with the weather if it's cold then my coat can keep me warm, but if it gets sunny and can just whip my coat of and be nice and cool. Best of both worlds.

The shirt and bag is from Primark while the coat is from NewLook. I also have a necklace that was made for me which is the word 'Brigid' which I absolutely adore because I never have anything that is personalised with a name like Brigid. And having your name on your necklace is handy if anyone has to spell my name so it's good for everyone involved.

What colour do you like wearing?

Fun auntie and neice time.

Blue trousers.

Selfish for Miss Selfridge.

Even though it hasn't been autumn for a while I still love sticking an autumnal colour in my outfit. In the sale I was browsing in Miss Selfridge which is always full of beautiful items. I spotted this green skirt from across the shop. (Does that count as love at first sight?)

I fell bad to say that I wear this all the time, as I say that sentenced way too much, but I really do! I wore this top in my very first blog post so it's nice to know that I'm still enjoying it and it wasn't a pointless purchase. I really enjoy wearing simple and casual outfit which is really what I wear everyday since I no longer wear a uniform, but what is even better is when the outfit I scomfatable. Even though it doesn't sound very fashionable, but why not feel great as well as looking great?!
This dark green skirt is so comfy because it it stretchy and so well fitting.

All the other parts of this outfit is very unusual. I promise that I will stop wearing this coat and scarf in future posts as I'm sure you're quite bored of it as I am! But as this outfit was for a walk I wanted to stick to a well known look for me. Im sorry that this was a boring post this week.

Everyday Asos.

I love to show really simple everyday outfits on here in case it strikes a little inspiration which is something I love to get when reading other blog. This is a really casual outfit that I wear all the time. Last week my outfit was mostly Primark, but this week I wanted to talk about Asos.

Asos is a big love for me even though it's online, and I usually like to shop in person where I can try things on, but Asos is an exception. Their style and range is so cool! I love looking at their shoes and basically everything else, especially because they have a 70% off sale. I talked about my trench coat in my last post and I just have a simple polo neck top on from Nobody's Child. I love everything on Nobody's child as well.

I am only 5'4 so I need my short jeans, which are not easily found in lots of shops. These jeans are comfy, affordable and short! I'm so happy that I bought them and while I was buying them I also came across a really cute headband. This is quite different for me, because I don't do a lot with my hair and this is not very subtle, so I'm quite proud that I just went for.

I've already done a post about these shoes; it was at the end of last year and I raved and raved about them, but I haven't actually done many fashion post where I'm actually wearing them. They have defiantly lasted well since I wear them so much and threw places like muddy fields. (It wasn't the best idea I've had)

Is there any shop that you love looking at?

Classic Trench coat.

I recently bought this trench coat because a lot of my coats are heavy winter ones, so I needed one that I could wear going into spring. I found it in Primark and it was £15! I had to buy it straight away and I've been wearing it ever since. It is so versitile and practical as well as being effortlessly chic even when I don't. (Which is basically all the time!)

I was chuffed with Primark that I wanted to do a full Primark outfit for the post which was very easy since I alredy had a nice selection to choose from. I really like wearing this white blouse because it really lifts even a simple pair of jeans, but I mostly just like to tuck it in to a skirt. I couldn't believe the skirt when I saw it because it looked so not like typical Primark.
The material is so thick and gorgeous to wear and the colours are perfect for each other. However it is a little short so you have to give a little tug down your leg. This may just be because of the way it sits on me as I have large hips, but never the less I love it.

I'm afraid I slightly lied when I said it was all Primark as my scarf and bag are not. The scarf is my usual Foxford when that I talk about in every post and the bag is from accessorise which I talked about in this post. But I really wanted this outfit to be one that I wear everyday so I would be lying if I wasn't wearing my trusty scarf. This trench coat is defiantly going to become a staple like my scarf.

Have you had any good January purchases?
