The Christmas tag.

We are so close to Christmas and I hope you're excited like I am. I wanted to do a Christmas tag that I read on one of my favourite blogs; Peach Perfect

When do you get excited about Christmas?
Usually its pretty early, but this year I have been away at uni and in my job, (bartender) you can't get excited by the rude people at manic Christmas parties. So I got excited when I came home for the holidays.

Do you prefer giving or receiving presents?
I'm a terrible person, but I love getting presents. However, I do also get really excited when I see people open presents because I love to see them smile.

What is the worst Christmas gift you have ever received?
Mmmm let me think. I've never received anything terrible, but I've had a few toiletry sets that I never used.

Is your tree real or fake?
Its usually fake but we have a real one this year.

What is your favourite Christmas/seasonal drink?
On Christmas eve we get together and have cocktails which I love because everyone is so happy and excited.

Where do you spend Christmas?
Always in our family home, everyone comes to us and we have a big feast. I spend boxing day at my Dad's house and have a second Christmas. You can imagine how stuffed I get.

Where is a dream location you would like to visit during the Christmas season?
Its a bit boring but home is the only place I'd like to spend Christmas. But I'd love to visit some European cities during December. I think Spain would be amazing around Christmas because they are such a Catholic country. I love seeing other traditions.

What is your favourite Christmas film?
Has to be Elf. I think its heart warming and hilarious.

I'd love to hear your answer to these questions.

New Discovery; Raid footwear.

While scourering the internet for my new favourite winter boots I came across a shop on Asos called Raid which sparked my interest. First of all I found the gorgeous boots I had been picturing in my mind and second of all I wanted everything! I did restrain myself to a point, but i really wanted some red shoes with a low heel and low and behold there they were. Waiting for me.

I've  really wanted some shoes that I can wear on a night out but also in the day time hence the practical heel which I am in love with! Red in the colour of the season and perfect for Christmas so I really encourage you to add a bit of red into your lives. (Side note I got the most gorgeous red scarf recently that I wear none stop)
I know this is a bit of a boring look but I've been desperate to show these shoes in a casual light. And I've recently bought this H&M sparkly jumper which is so so festive and I will be wearing it on Christmas day with a redlip.
I love the idea of wearing blue instead of the normal festiv

Similar shoes.

My new makeup; L'Oreal.

I haven't talked about beauty in ages, but recently I've bought new products that I want to talk about and I love watching those makeup videos on Instagram where the ladies are beautiful and talented so I've been desperate to do beauty post! Both my Rimmel foundation and concealer ran out at the same time which is useful because I like to have the same concealer as my foundation.

I looked around my local boots and swatched a lot. My hand was covered in different foundations! My favourite foundation was the L'oreal True Match foundation, because of the consistency which suits my dry skin and the range of shades. I enjoyed being able to match my skin tone so well. The only problem is this shade is more my summer skin than my pale winter skin, but I always blend it down my neck to avoid the horrible foundation line, but its blenability (definitely not a word) is really good.
The coverage is about medium and I would avoid layering it to avoid the 'cakey' look, however the concealer is not high coverage. Its slightly annoying because I really need the coverage, but this would be perfect for other people who only want a little helping hand.

I love the powder! As a blogger I used the Rimmel 'stay matte' which was all the range a few years ago so I loved branching out into other products. I would really recommend it as a change as its so smooth and has a lovely finish to keep the shine away.

And now my favourite purchase! This wasn't exactly necessary but I treated myself to this stunning red lipstick so I can be ready for the festive season. I was actually really impressed with its staying power even after eating.

Have you bought anything recently for the winter time?

New love for Midis.

I am a big dress wearer and I always have been, but shockingly I have never owned a midi dress until now. I never thought about wearing something longer in the day time or on a night out and I tend to mostly wear dresses in the summer which is the norm, right?

I always thought of longer dresses as really dressy and not for casual day wear, but obviously I was wrong. This Boohoo dress is gorgeously flowy which really contrasts with my leather jacket and boots which are worn daily in the autumn. The flowers are so autumnal that I thought it would be a great addition to my autumn wardrobe even though I wouldn't normally pick something with a pattern, especially on a big piece like this, but the mustard was so autumnal and definitely a trend this season that I had to get it. I love trying to wear the season trend in an unconventional way. Don't get me wrong, my mustard jumper has been to pieces over the years.

This dress can be dressed up and down depending on the shoe, jacket or accessories. I flipping love this clutch bag from Primark which I only picked up because I needed a clutch for nights out, but I actually love to wear it in the day time, because of the handy wrist strap. The leather and patent leather brings together the jacket and my favourite Raid boots which will probably get a post to themselves in the future.

I hope you like the way I've styled this midi dress and I cannot wait to explore the midi trend more.

Mini Lush Haul. Halloween edition.

Ooooooooh its that spooky time of year and Lush knows it as well as everyone else. I had a little look around and fell in love with their Halloween/Autumn items because they're just so cute, so its just a mini haul! Obviously I can't review them on how good they are in the bath as I'm saving them for when I get home. (Student accommodation isn't glamorous)

So, the first item I picked up isn't strictly Halloween, but the orangey colour is very autumnal. I don't really use bars of soap because I have always been told that they are a breading ground for bacteria. Not sure if this is true but anyway, I bought this 'Sexy Peel' soap to put in my underwear draw which you may think is weird. Who else does that? Just me? I love having some yummy soap making my draw smell nice once the smell of washing powder has faded. 'Sexy peel' has a beautiful citrus smell made up of orange and lemon.  Since getting it home the smell is less intense but I think that is generally true for lush. I can't wait to smell it every morning.

The next two are incredibly Halloweeny! Whats more Halloween than creepy cats and pumpkins? And yes the cat has see better days, but it doesn't matter too much when its in the bath. Both of the items are bubble bars which excites me so much because I love going extra when I have a bubble bath. All or nothing. I might prefer the sparkly pumpkin at the moment purely because its covered I glitter. So so pretty!

Glitter and Glamour.

Okay, lets get back into things and what a perfect way to return to blogging! Glitter! I have recently been talking with a company called Glamour by DKUK. Have you ever wondered where all these girls on social media get their fancy make up brushes, (Who doesn't want unicorn brushes?!) interesting beauty blenders and the new fad; 'Insta Smile'? I had a good look around the website and I love all the various products, they are mostly a fashion brand, but today I am talking about the accessories that they offer.

With starting uni I did go through the necessary Freshers week and lived to tell the tail. Sleep was limited and the dancing was everything, so being able to wear glitter was fantastically fun! Me and my friends played around with where we would put it and what colours we would use. My personal favourite was the gold glitter on the top of my cheeks like a very extra highlighter.
It is so easy to apply, I used a makeup brush to put it onto my face and I'll be honest it will stay all night. I thought that I took most of it off before went to bed because you should always remove your makeup before bed...but I did find glitter on my pillow in the morning so its staying power has good and less good points.

I am going to be posting about this company again and again I the future so if you have any questions about the products or the ordering then please ask! The standard delivery is 2-4 days and you have 14 days to return items. I really hope that you have a look around!

Life Update.

I did it! I made it to the next stage of life that many people are currently beginning right now. I have been very quiet on my blog and social media because to be honest, as terrible as it sounds, I just haven't had the time. I went on a family week away which was perfect then I moved all my belongings to a different city and had to discover a million new things by myself. Suddenly I have to be an adult! Scary stuff.

I am going to slowly get back into my blogging since I have settled into my new routine, so thank you so much for your patience! I'm actually excited for my new stage of life!

What a lemon. #ZafulBlogSeries

I have shown a more formal side to Zaful on my blog, but now its time to get casual. Lets relax. Don't we all love a baggy t-shirt. Its so comfy, but fun so you may notice that the wording is a little faded because I have worn it so much whether its warm or old outside. My favourite look for this t-shirt is to tuck it in to high waisted jeans or skirt, because even though I like the baggy look I don't really want to look shapeless, so by tucking it in I can still have waist.

The colour is so vivid and lively that it really completes a plain old outfit!

Yellow sunshine in the cold.

This is just a little post at the moment because I'm on holiday but I will probably add to it at some point. Since being on holiday and having busy summer days I have been loving this simple midi body con dress. I really wasn't sure if it was for me because I have pretty wide hips  which is normal for a lot of girls but horizontal tight stripes could be terrible for me. I bought it anyway. I love slipping it on and being on way for the day.
But becauseven I live in England., I need a good raincoat. I got this one as a birthday present (that I asked for) from Boohoo.com because I love yellow! I love standing out with this funky coat. Especially in the rain. The only problem is that it's not very warm so you've got to layer up underneath er but because of the cut it allows roomg for a good chunky knit.

What are your favourite kinds of coats at this time of the year?

Dress/ Shoes are Primark / Coat.

The Stripey Midi dress #ZafulBlogSeries

Okay! Seriously! I have never had so many compliments before I wore this sun dress. Of course I liked it,  otherwise I wouldn't have it, but loads of people seem to think it's great! I had a stranger tell me it looked lovely. When does that happen in this day and age?! Needless to say I am going to wear this a lot.
Once again I am carrying on my blog series with the fantastic website; Zaful. I have been so lucky to work with this carried and exquisite brand.
This bold midi dress is one of many on their website, but this particular one caught my eye as the dark colours are highlighted by the light so the bold stripes really come through. I love to wear darker colours because I think they suit me more, but dark clothing in the summer can be a little odd next to the pinks and light blues. So the white makes it a lot more summery and exsentuates the beautiful anday flattering shape.  This perfect for those summer garden parties and or you're trying to get in the spirit of Wimbledon as you need to be cool with this thing fabric is great for and there is not always a need to show your legs or chest. This provides a very classy option.
I hope you have heardone if Zaful because some major instagrammers have been raving about their swim suits and YouTuber Patricia Bright has done a fantail review. You really need to check their website out!

A pop of red #Zafulblogseries

Wow, I love this perfect  summer dress. I had been waiting for it in the post very eagerly from when I ordered it off a blog favourite which is Zaful!

I will be completely honest with you, when I first tried this on I went 'Oh', as the dress is not only low cut, but the whole chest area is a little wide. I would usually put a few stitches in and no one would be any the wiser, however this is a wrap dress which is one of my favourite qualities, because it wraps perfectly around YOUR body shape. the first day I wore this I used the good old safety pins to keep my modesty, but this still didn't work because I am not exactly flat in the chest area. If smaller breasts then a pin might work fine but I had a few pop moments! I can't decide whether it was funny or not.

The second time I wore this beautiful bright Zaful dress I tried a vest top even though I felt like a little girl putting my vest on. Luckly, I loved how this sneaky bit of lace complimented the colourful dress and it was a lot more relaxing knowing that I wasn't going to fall out at any moment.
I know it sounds boringly practical , but on our summer days that aren't too hot then an extra thin layer is rather enjoyable!

I'm now going to be looking for more wrap dresses on Zaful, because it compliments my body in all the best ways. its comes in on my actual waist and it doesn't hang around it like some normal dresses and it floats over everything else which is great in summer!

Merci Moman. Forever pretty.

Something my sister and I say is; that if its good enough for Duchess of Cambridge then it is good enough for us. This seems very random, but it is in relation to one of our favourite brands, Merci Maman. Our taste can vary sometimes, but we completely agree about the huge brand that came from a lovely lady's kitchen table which is amazing when you think about it!

I was so lucky on my 18th birthday to receive a personalised necklace from my wonderful sister from the brand that we both love. I love that it is a great English brand but it has a huge nod to the classic french style which I am all about, like I said on my Instagram. On one side of my necklace is my name which was a big deal for me because with having an extremely unusual name, so I have never found something with it on. My sister has always appreciated my want of things with my name on so I was more 'normal' and I know that is silly, but its fun. On the back of the shiny heart is one of my nicknames; Bridgie which I have been called all my lift as its a little less formal than Brigid.

However, one of my favourite things I the tiny little circle with a 'C' inside to always remind me of my sister as her name begins with C. Something silly I have loved for years is that since she got married her initials are CC and mine or BB. Mmmmmm, its so pretty!
Do you have special jewellery?

Yellow Crochet Bikini? #zafulblogseries

It's basically summer now so that means for the lucky ones of us summer holidays! If you're feeling comfortable enough then that means bikinis. Maybe a really fashionable colour block costume or maybe even a crazy yellow crochet bikini?!
I wanted to share some really fun swimming costumes and bikinis that you might be interested in. I was inspired by the Zaful website and I have made a little wishlist which contains a range of different beachwear like the classic and simple black swimming costume that every woman should feel fabulous in because I know you will look stunning.

Or if you want something cute and playful then I think this bright pretty blue bikini is perfect. And as for this amazing yellow crochet bikini it really is something else. I kind of love it though because you have to have guts to wear this even in your own garden, but who cares? Where what you like, as long you're happy and comfortable, so I think Zaful is a great place to shop for good quality and comfy clothes. I've worn clothes from Zaful again and again, so I do know it to be true.

There is some news I would love to share with you all which is why I have published an usual midweek post.
One of the biggest online fashion store “Zaful” is now celebrating their 3rd anniversary.
I've checked out the details about this anniversary blog giveaway. To be honest it's pretty awesome. The link to their blog is here: https://zafulofficial.wordpress.com/

Who doesn’t love giveaways? Go to their blog and take a look. I would be very happy if you tag my name @_overthebridge_ on twitter or  @brigid_bartlett on Instagram after participating in the giveaway event. Zaful will choose a couple of winners after the event and give out huge rewards! The more tags you do, the more rewards you will receive which I think is fantastic.

#Zafulblogseries Ultimate Summer Dress.

On to my next Zaful post! I can finally show you one of Zaful's outfits in all the summer glory that we have experienced in England recently. I haven't done a proper full fashion post in ages, so I really enjoyed doing this, especially because I can gush about this gorgeous dress!

This is one of the lovely yellow mini dresses that you can find on the Zaful website. A new colour that I've been giving a lot of thought to is yellow. I never liked yellow, I had a horrible yellow bedroom as I didn't appreciate my parents not enforcing gender stereotypes on me at the age of 5. But,  from fizzy sherbet to mustard to pastel lemon, yellow has been all over the run way and has come down to the high street and online shops showing that yellow can be worn! Who would have thought it? Maybe yellow might be a bit too much for you, so the floral pattern makes this so so summery and pretty and I had to wear it walking around these gorgeous gardens near by. I felt like I fitted in with the flowers.
And lets not forget these beautiful Zaful sunglasses. I have a guilty secret and that is that I always break sunglasses, but not these. My favourite thing is that my niece can not stop looking at them because she can see herself in them which is so funny to watch.

It really backs up what I have said about Zaful clothing because it really is affordable fashion that redefines trends and the exceptional quality is for everyone!
